James Roven, CEO
An eternal tinkerer, designer, serial entrepreneur and New York native, Roven founded 2 successful companies prior to Futuremedia, including the web development agency Blue Hypermedia, and accessories brand J.FOLD New York (see below). Roven is also a classically trained cellist and has toured internationally, and recorded on over a dozen albums. Roven holds a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and currently resides in New York City and Bangkok.
Prior to Futuremedia, Roven co-founded Blue Hypermedia ( blue.com ) one of Silicon Alley’s best known web development agencies. Roven won dozens of the industry’s top awards and oversaw hundreds of high profile projects for top tier clients and Fortune 500 companies including MasterCard, Pfizer, Cigna and the New York Times.
Roven successfully exited Blue.com when it was acquired by Microforum (MCF.TO) for $14 million.
Roven also co-created J.FOLD New York. A New York based accessories brand available in thousands of major retailers internationally including Bloomingdales, Nordstrom and Takashimaya.
Roven sold his equity in J.FOLD in 2009, and the brand continues to grow.
